Location & Arrival Information

Visits should always be arranged in advance. Since the camp is remote, we want to ensure a tent is available and prepared for your arrival.

FAQs

Answers to common questions to help you prepare for your visit. If you have more questions, feel free to contact us!

Is there electricity available?

We have solar power for basic lighting and charging small devices. If you need to charge anything specific, feel free to get in touch with our team.

What about mosquitoes or insects?

All tents have mosquito nets. Usually, there are fewer mosquitoes because of the coastal wind.

I want to kite surf – is that possible?

No problem! You can kite surf right on our beach, or we can provide a shuttle service to the nearby lagoon for ideal conditions.

Do you have kayaks or SUPs?

Currently, we don’t have any available for rent. It’s on our list, and we’ll update you as soon as we have them.

Why do I see different prices for a tent online?

Some external booking platforms apply their own service fees or commissions, which may result in slightly different prices. To ensure the best value and the most up-to-date information, we always recommend booking directly through our website.

Why do we recommend arriving with our team?

Our goal is to help you arrive stress-free, without the risk of getting stuck or having to pay high recovery fees. Recently, a guest was stuck for over four hours, and we’ve heard of cases where private recovery assistance charged up to 100 OMR.

Low tide vs. high tide – what should I expect?

Tides are a natural phenomenon that we cannot control. Even during low tide, it is still possible to swim and enjoy the sea. Low tide can also be especially interesting, as you may spot more marine life and coastal animals exploring the shoreline.

Are children welcome in the camp?

Of course! Children are warmly welcome. However, parents need to supervise their children at all times, as the camp is directly by the sea with no fencing. We also have fun games and activities to keep them entertained at the camp.

Please note that we do not provide baby beds or baby seats.

Is the camp safe for solo travelers?

Yes, the camp is safe and welcoming for solo travelers. You might also meet new people who share your interests and make lasting connections.

Flying Drones in Oman (08/2025)

Tourists can now fly drones in Oman with an approved Serb Tourist Plan permit. The online system, run by Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority, allows visitors to apply before travelling, register their drone, and fly legally in over 127 approved green zones.

Can we camp at the site (self-camping)?

Yes, self-camping is possible. For a fee, we provide access to our designated camp area where you can set up your own tent. Guests are also welcome to use the shared bathroom facilities and dining area. Dinner and breakfast can be added as optional extras with a fee.

How can I pay at the Camp?

At the moment we can only accept cash. You’ll find ATMs in Mahout, the last town before you reach us. We are already working on getting a card payment machine soon.

Do you have warm water?

We live in a remote area and run entirely on solar power, so we don’t have electric water heaters. We recommend taking your shower before sunset, when the water has been naturally warmed by the sun and is pleasantly warm.
